Last Week On Internet Marketing
Filed under: Affiliate Marketing; Tagged as: Affiliate Marketing, ebay, make money, squidoo lens, twitter, twitter applications, Web 2.04 CommentsJust a short note to tell you want was remarkable on Internet Marketing on last week.
1) The eBay finally decided to get read of other types of payments and accept only PayPal. Make a lot of sense, they a talking about it from some time but now they implement this idea. Forcing customers to pay only with PayPal which is part of eBay will:
-
Create more secure payments
-
More stability
-
Build trust between sellers and buyers
-
Make transaction easy to follow
This is a “change”, I am totally agree with.
2) Opt-in Forms are back on Squidoo, I already update my lenses, you can see an example at http://www.squidoo.com/BeginnersAffiliateProfit or http://www.squidoo.com/SquidIncomeGoal
3) I create my own group on Squidoo, and call it: AffiliateMarketing09
4) It is a flood with new Twitter Applications:
http://www.tweepler.com http://twitter-splitter.com and so on.
At this point the power of tweeter is incredible, there are people with thousands of followers and there is no restriction on what you advertise. When affiliate marketing URLs are more and more restricted on: some blogs, forums, ezines, on Squidoo and Twitter we can use affiliate link as much as we want. But don’t abuse it, use Twitter ethically and spamlessly and you will increase your web traffic.
Until next time all the best

In Nov. 2008 I stumble upon an interesting lens on Squidoo, Mark’s Challenge
http://www.squidoo.com/50adaywithSquidooHe was making $1 a day and he decided that he wanted to make $50 a day with Squidoo.
He also decided to document all his actions to accomplish this challenge; this was a wise decision as he attracted more visitors, more traffic, a better rank on Squidoo and more money!I was looking from time to time, I was very busy with December activities, but at the end of Dec. I decided to create a challenge on my own.
Mine is a modest challenge but I am determined to make it and following his example I start documenting everything, this is my challenge: http://www.squidoo.com/SquidIncomeGoal
I think I had a good start, in 2 weeks I am ranked 19 in the category “How-to” and 645 rank overall. It is a funny and intense daily job:
- I expend my Squidoo activity
- I learn a lot about getting traffic to lenses
- I meet a great community of Squids what support me, keep an eye on what I am doing
- I keep a day-by-day log as well, and
- I hope I’ll make it! (my dead line is 30 March)
You probably think that $30 a day with Squidoo it is not a big deal. It is, as:
- This means $900 extra money per month
- If I’ll succeed with $30 a day, the learning curve is done and I can raise the bar and make how much I want per day
- I’ll prove that it is possible to make money with Squidoo lenses
- I can inspire others to try similar challenges
I’ll keep you posted and I invite you to look it over to my Squid Income Goal. Do you Squidoo? Do you make money with Squidoo?
Let me know your experience with Squidoo!Until next time all the best

Follow the statistics, your traffic will improve.
Filed under: Traffic topics; Tagged as: Free Web 2.0 Traffic, Hostgator, hubpages, squidoo lens, statistics in cPanel, Traffic topics, twitter, Video sites, web 2.0 ApplicationsNo CommentsHello! I just want to share my observations about traffic with you.
I have a couple of websites, blogs, squidoo lenses, hubs and so on, and like everybody else I try hard to drive traffic to them.
Because the Internet trends, patterns, Web 2.0 applications, engine algorithms are changing so rapidly, we cannot relay on 2-year ago info.
I need to know what is working NOW, and what I have to change from my old patterns.
For websites.
I have started a habit to find out info about my traffic . I spend 10-15 min per day looking to the statistics on my cPanel.
When I was looking for a host for me, I chose HostGator as they had Fantastico utility. It was an excellent choice. In addition to Fantastico, they have a big variety of other utilities, tutorials, statistics tools and an excellent live support. You will be surprised how much you can learn just looking at the statistics.
Example:
If somebody asks me what page on my main website attracts the largest number of visitors, I couldn’t guess, as it is:- The most simplistic page possible
- The page contains only 2 pictures and 4 links
- I created the page as a practice for a script I bought one and a half year ago
- It has never been updated since creation and
- I almost forgot about it.
This is it:
http://www.mc-ebay-resources.com/MyVideos.htmlIt is true that the 2 links are for sites which are collections of videos I created with the script:
- One is collecting all the videos created for eBay
- The other is collecting all the videos created for Studio Art Glass
It is also true that:
- My Squidoo lens for Art Glass S. Fellerman is ranked #552 in Alexa (last time I checked) as squidoo is ranked #552
- My eBay auction site is not ranked at all in Alexa and Google (this is the other mystery of Google search engine algorithms)
But MyVideo.html page produces the most traffic possible and NOW I know WHY!
It is because it has 2 links to pages that are collections of videos which are dynamically allocated, each time a new Video is added or deleted. But don’t forget my page ( MyVideo.html) hasn’t changed in one year and a half, and continues to inherit the visibility, the traffic from the video collection sites.
Isn’t this intriguing and useful to know? This is actually the proof that the backlinks to pages with high volume of traffic can benefit you for your own ranking.
And I found this looking at my statistics in cPanel.
For lenses, hubs, twitter etc.
For Web 2.0 applications are easier to determine if you have good traffic or not, as you can see the participation of other people.Example – you can see that one twitter has 2,000 followers and the other has just 200, or a lens is ranked well and has a lot of comments whereas others are not, and so on.
For Web 2.0 applications you also have a lot of widgets which are dynamically allocated, and now you can use some widgets in websites as well.
Note: I think I am an affiliate for the script creating a site that collects all the existing videos created for a specific key. I never used that affiliation; I will look it over, and let you know.
As always, you are welcome to leave your comments here on the blog.
Until next time, all the best
